Shortage of Machu Picchu Tickets for August 2014

August 9, 2014

General admission Machu Picchu entrance tickets for August 2014 are selling out completely. Make sure that you plan ahead and buy your tickets with several weeks (if not months) of anticipation. Don’t travel to Peru and miss out on your chance to visit Machu Picchu. You have been warned!

This year has seen unprecedented levels of tourism in Peru, which is great news for the local economy, but bad news if you haven’t secured your Machu Picchu entrance tickets yet.

General entrance tickets from today until August 21 have completely sold out, and the other combination tickets including Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain are also in short supply.

ENTERTAINMENT TIP: If looking for fun at night, or to watch sports during the day, or even a taste of home, visit the Wild Rover Hostel Cusco for great food, sports and beer! Entrance to their bar is free even for non-guests

We expect the high demand for tickets to continue well into September and possibly into October as well. Not only are Machu Picchu tickets selling out, availability for train tickets to Machu Picchu is also at a premium.

Here is a summary of ticket availability from today forward for the next 2 weeks. Book your Machu Picchu tickets today, and avoid the misery of travelling all the way to Peru and not getting to see Machu Picchu.
