As the main stop off point for travelers on their way to Machu Picchu, Cusco has literally hundreds of hotels, lodgings and hostels to choose from. Ninety-five percent of the tourist hotels in Cusco are located within a 5 -10 minutes’ walk of the city’s main colonial square – Plaza de Armas. A night’s accommodation can range from US$ 10 for a bed in a backpackers hostel through to an eye watering US$ 1,500 a night for a top suite in one of the city’s finest hotels.
