I’m a UK-born travel writer and editor who came to Peru “for a season” after a literature degree and ended up building a life between the coast, Andes, and Amazon. A long solo route from Ushuaia to Colombia taught me the rhythms of night buses, riverboats, and high-altitude towns; Peru hooked me somewhere between a dawn skiff on the Marañón and a switchback above the Sacred Valley. I’ve been based here ever since, filing stories from Lima, Cusco, and the high-jungle belt of San Martín.
These days I field-test what I publish: 80+ night buses, 40,000+ km on domestic routes, 23 of Peru’s 25 regions visited, and elevations from sea level to 5,000 m. I check seatbelts, timings, and “included” meals; compare safety records; and note real transfer times (yes, the 3:00 a.m. terminal shuffle counts). When I’m not on the road, you’ll find me editing guides, answering reader questions, or mapping new itineraries over far too much coffee.
