Overview

El Mapi is a hotel and restaurant located half way up Avenida Pachacutec, the pedestrianized street in Aguas Calientes. The hotel offers a daily buffet lunch that is open to the public. The sleek and contemporary restaurant which backs onto a peaceful outdoor patio area (which can also be used) seats 70 people. The long main buffet table includes entrees such as soups & bread, hams, cheeses and stuffed wantons etc., whilst beef stew, chicken, fish and pastas are offered for main dishes. On the other side of the restaurant a dessert table offers a selection of traditional Peruvian desserts. Herbal teas and coffee are included within the price, but other soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are purchased separately.

Our Thoughts

We like the El Mapi Restaurant. The buffet doesn’t have the widest selection of food, but what is on offer is good quality and sufficient for most peoples lunch needs. Sometimes large tour groups eat at the El Mapi Restaurant, so a reservation is highly recommended. Inkaterra who own the hotel know what they are doing, so you can be rest assured that the food is fresh and well-cooked and that it won’t leave you with a funny tummy a few days later. The buffet is only available at lunch time.
