The Chullpi Restaurant opened its doors in 2012, and is a medium sized restaurant with a modern minimalistic feel to it. Located above the train tracks that lead out of Aguas Calientes to the hydroelectric plant, the restaurant offers a small choice set menu for both lunch and dinner. Priced at S/.38 (US$ 14)* the menu includes an entrée, main dish and dessert. There is also an a la carte menu available. The restaurant has seating for 50 people inside the restaurant and further seating for 16 people on the walkway outside. The restaurant caters for larger groups as well as individuals wishing to dine.

We like the Chullpi Restaurant. Although the restaurant doesn’t particularly have the nicest location (with views over the train tracks), the food certainly makes up for it. You could kind of call it a “Menu of the Day” restaurant, but with class and excellent food. The seating outside of the restaurant has views along part of the valley (as well as the train tracks), and on a nice bright sunny day is perfectly suitable for a relaxing lunch. All the food that we ate there was excellent especially the Tres Leches (three milk) dessert which was sublime. The only complaint we have is that we did leave feeling a bit peckish. Pricewise, the Chullpi Restaurant is very good value for money.
