La Mar restaurant is another fantastic creation by the famous chef Gastón Acurio. A lunch only establishment, this is one of the finest cevicherías that Lima has to offer. Located in La Mar Avenue, one of Lima’s most popular cerviche areas in what many people nickname the “Ceviche Neighborhood” you can find some of Lima’s best names, such as La Red, Pescados Capitales and El Mercado.
The menu offers a great selection of traditional fresh cerviche dishes, plus some mouthwateringly alternative plates like chaufa la mar (chinese seafood rice), ravioles negros de cangrejo (crab ravioles) and la gran cacerola la mar (a large casserole of halibut, jumbo prawns and crab).
Extremely popular most days of the week (especially Saturdays), it is important to arrive early unless you want to wait several hours for a table.
The modern yet rustic no fuss ambience of the restaurant and well priced flavorsome seafood, simply make it one of the best in town. A must for any seafood lover.

We think that La Mar restaurant is one of the best seafood outfits in Lima (if not the world!) Although usually always busy, the service and quality of the food is always good. If you love seafood then this is for you! Not the cheapest cevicheria in town, but worth every penny.
