Astrid & Gaston first opened in 1994 by the now famous Peruvian chef Gaston Acurio and his wife Astrid Gutsche. Nowadays Gaston Acurio is a world renowned chef, with a handful of TV cooking shows to his name. The restaurant success has led to new locations in Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Argentina and Spain.

The restaurant offers Criollo concept cuisine, utilizing local flavors and ingredients to create sophisticated traditional Peruvian dishes. The elegant yet warm restaurant occupies a charming colonial house, with pumpkin-colored walls and an open kitchen where Gastón and his team can be seen cooking.
The menu changes regularly but it always includes some interesting plates such as: rabbit with artichoke, pork with kumquat, confit of guinea pig and herb infused veal shank. The bar has an amazing collection of piscos, making it a good idea to arrive in advance for a taste of Peru’s national drink.

A nice relaxed atmosphere in a beautifully decorated restaurant. Simply one of the most popular high-end restaurants in Lima. Feedback from clients is generally very high, with only minor niggles.
