I am travelling with my husband and 2 children to Peru in July next year, and we would like to include some time in the Amazon Jungle. I am a little worried that taking children to the jungle is a good idea. My children are 7 & 10 years old. What would happen if one of them was to fall ill?
The Peruvian Jungle in general is a safe and education place for young children. Really young children will not appreciate the jungle, and may also find that the humidity is a little uncomfortable. Although many jungle lodges have a medical centers that offer basic assistance, good hospitals are a flight away in either Cusco or Lima.
